Epic Seven: Top 10 Best PvP Heroes

PvP is undoubtedly the main focus of Epic Seven once you’ve conquered the majority of PvE content.

You need a diverse set of heroes to reach the highest ranks of Arena or actually contribute to Guild Wars.

Certain heroes are tailor-made to dominate PvP, with some having little or no use in PvE at all.

Depending on the PvP mode you’re playing, as well as offensive or defensive, you’ll want to switch up your approach. I’ve gone through each mode below!

Offensive Arena

Choose heroes depending on the enemy team.

If they look to have a lot of AoE offensive units, bring anti-cleave.

Use elemental match-ups for maximum advantage.

Defensive Arena

Just make the most disgusting, sweaty & annoying team imaginable.

Doesn’t have to be the strongest team, just the one that will frustrate any attackers the most.

For example, I go for Angelica, General Purrgis, Researcher Carrot & Violet.

All 4 of them are difficult to kill, as well as having a full elemental match-up.

4 of your strongest Soul Weavers are also a good choice!

Offensive Guild War

Can be very tricky as you only get one chance per enemy team.

Seeing a hero fall in a battle will render them unable to fight for the remainder of the Guild War.

Therefore, think carefully before you press that “Attack” button.

In general, have a healer on each offensive team.

Follow it up with a DPS, as well as a tank or another DPS.

Try to get good elemental match-ups but if the enemy guild members are smart, they’ll make that very hard to do.

Defensive Guild War

These teams should be built to win through power rather than frustration.

You’ll need at least 1 fast Soul Weaver hero, with 1 tank and 1 DPS, or 2 DPS heroes.

Elemental match-ups are important here so make sure you don’t have any significant weaknesses to any specific elements.

World Arena

To climb in World Arena, you really need several really strong PvP heroes.

You will ideally have every hero on this list.

All built with the relevant sets, with at least 100k CP.

World Arena is a real-time battle with both players able to acquire souls to power up their abilities.

So not only is it a game of stats, it’s a strategy game where every move matters.

I highly suggest you look into every PvP hero who is used fairly regularly so you’re always prepared for everything!

10. Adventurer Ras

Attribute: Fire

Class: Knight

Recommended Set: Speed/HP

Recommended Artifact: Aurius

How to get: Specialty Change

Skills

X-Slash
Command Strike
Purifying Flame
Attacks with a sword, with 75% chance to dispel a buff. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.
Burn Effect: Skill cooldown is decreased by 2 turns.

Attacks the enemy repeatedly, and triggers a Dual Attack from the strongest ally. Has a 60% chance to decrease Defense of the target by 1 turn when using Command Strike.
Strongly attacks all enemies with a swordstorm, recovering Health and increasing Defense of all allies for 2 turns. Damage dealt and amount recovered increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

Your best budget front-line option is Adventurer Ras, available after completing Episode 2.

Being able to dispel buffs is huge for any supportive character, as thinks like Invinibility & Immunity can really ruin your chances of victory.

Being a Fire hero helps cover elemental match-ups, as many of the best DPS heroes are Earth & Ice.

Ras definitely deserves a place on this list as one of the best tanks in PvP!

9. Ruele of Light

Attribute: Light

Class: Soul Weaver

Recommended Set: Effect Resistance/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Idol’s Cheer

How to get: 5* Moonlight Summon

Skills

Key to an Oath
Light Pillar
Light Ascending
Burn Effect: Attacks the enemy and greatly heals all allies. Does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Attacks the enemy with a staff and heals the ally with the lowest Health. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health, and healing increases proportional to the ally’s max Health.
Summons a light pillar, dispelling all debuffs, recovering Health and granting a barrier for 2 turns. Amount recovered and barrier strength increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.
Revives one dead ally with healing magic, recovering all of their Health and granting them invincibility for 1 turn. Living allies will receive the same effect after having all debuffs dispelled.

Ruele’s skill 3 is one of the most frustrating abilities to face in Epic Seven.

Enemies simply have no choice but to focus her down first, as she’ll just revive any team member they beat first.

For defense teams, this is pretty nice.

For offensive teams, it’s even better, as the AI doesn’t take her revive into consideration.

Her additional heals are always great to have, as is the 2nd skill, essentially restoring even the most inflicted ally back to full strength.

8. Politis

Attribute: Fire

Class: Mage

Recommended Set: Speed/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Abyssal Crown

How to get: 5* Covenant Summon

Skills

Call of the Stars
Astral Guide (Passive)
Starfall
Burn Effect: Grants an extra turn.

Summons dolls to attack the enemy, with a 25% chance to stun for 1 turn.
When the enemy is not an Elite or Boss monster, reduces the effect of Combat Readiness granted to the enemy by 50%. This effect does not stack with other passive effects of the same name. Activates Tranquility when an enemy uses a non-attack skill. Tranquility can be activated once every 2 turns.

Tranquility: Attacks all enemies, decreasing buff durations by 1 turn, before increasing Combat Readiness of the caster by 30%.
Attacks all enemies with alien technology, with a 75% chance each to decrease Hit Chance and make them unable to be buffed for 2 turns.

Politis is a powerful niche unit who can counter many of the best team compositions you’ll find in Arena, Guild War & World Arena.

Many players run speed pushers to ensure a specific hero (usually with tons of offensive stats but no speed) attacks before your own units.

This hero counters them completely, significantly reducing the buffs they get.

Not only that, Politis is great against speedy heroes who like to get off a few buffs before attacking, as her Tranquility ability will counter that completely!

7. Seaside Bellona

Attribute: Ice

Class: Ranger

Recommended Set: Attack/Crit Chance

Recommended Artifact: Portrait of the Saviors

How to get: 5* Limited Summon

Skills

Watch Out
I’m with my Friends (Passive)
Haven’t I Warned You?
Attacks the enemy with a fan, with 60% chance to target the enemy for 2 turns.
Shares 30% of damage suffered by the caster with the foremost ally. When more than one damage sharing effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. The caster gains 1 Focus when ally is attacked. When an ally is attacked and the caster’s stacked Focus is 5, loses all Focus and activates You’re not Cute

You’re not Cute: Attacks all enemies with a fan, with 50% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns.
Burn Effect: Ignores effect resistance.

Attacks all enemies with a spray of water, with a 85% chance to make them unabled to be buffed and unhealable for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases with a critical hit.

Possibly the most common hero you’ll run into in PvP, Seaside Bellona is a highly effective hero that can fit into many teams.

Consistent de-buffs, as well as damage reduction and tons of AoE damage, make her a strong contender any strategy.

She does have plenty of counters, so having her specifically on offensive teams is recommended.

6. Fairytale Tenebria

Attribute: Ice

Class: Mage

Recommended Set: Speed/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Sira-Ren

How to get: 5* Limited Summon

Skills

One Pair
Wildcard (Passive)
Tea Party
Burn Effect: Grants an extra turn.

Attacks the enemy with a mystical power, with a 30% chance each to inflict two poison effects for 1 turn.
Activates Shuffle when an ally is attacked by an enemy inflicted with provoke or redirected provoke. Can only be activated once per turn.

Shuffle: Attacks all enemies and inflicts a random debuff for 1 turn. A successful attack inflicts additional damage when the target is inflicted with provoke or redirected provoke. Additional damage increases proportional to the target’s max Health.
Lures all enemies in with a tea party and attacks, dispelling one buff, making them unable to be buffed for 2 turns and inflicting redirected provoke for 1 turn.

Having been an unpopular pick in early 2021, Fairytale Tenebria is a rising star in the PvP scene.

Her redirect provoke is extremely strong alongside a strong frontline like General Purrgis or Ruele of Light.

Such abilities seem to belong more to a supportive hero but make no mistake, this Tenebria variant is capable of some destructive offensive power.

Being a limited summon makes her quite difficult to acquire for your roster, keep an eye out for updates from SmileGate as they usually tell you what banners are coming up in advance 🙂

5. Belian

Attribute: Light

Class: Knight

Recommended Set: Counter/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Elbris Ritual Sword

How to get: 5* Moonlight Summon

Skills

Light of Destruction
Shackles of Suppression (Passive)
Apocalypse
Burn Effect: Increases effect chance of activating Incursion to 100%.

Attacks all enemies with a ray, with a 50% chance to dispel one buff. When used on the caster’s turn, has a 35% chance to activate Incursion as an extra attack. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

Incursion: Attacks all enemies, decreasing Speed and Hit Chance for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.
Decreases the amount of Souls gained by the enemy by 100%. At the start of the turn, has a 70% chance to grant a random buff to the caster for 1 turn. (Increase Effectiveness, Increase Critical Hit Chance, Continuous Healing)
Attacks all enemies with the power of duties, decreasing Combat Readiness by a random amount between 20% and 40% and provokes for 1 turn. Increases Defense of the caster for 2 turns. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

Belian is arguably the best defense hero you can get in the entire game.

Her ability to reduce any souls earned by your opponent is crazy good, levelling the field for defense teams.

Counter set is perfect here, thanks to her skill 1 being an AoE attack that also happens to have a chance to dispel a buff.

She’s remarkably powerful in all aspects and should be in any defense team you can field!

4. Violet

Attribute: Earth

Class: Thief

Recommended Set: Lifesteal/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Moonlight Dreamblade

How to get: 5* Covenant Summon

Skills

Graceful Cut
Duel Accepted
Butterfly Cut
Burn Effect: Increases effect chance to 100% and decreases Attack of the target for 2 turns.

Attacks with a sword, with a 65% chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn. When it is not the caster’s turn, increases Combat Readiness by 15% and gains double the amount of Focus.
Prepares for a duel by dispelling two debuffs and granting perception for 3 turns before recovering Health by 15%. Grants an extra turn to the caster.

Perception: Increases Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage by 15%. Perception cannot be dispelled.
Pierces the enemy with a sword, and loses all Focus. Damage dealt increases proportional to the amount of Focus consumed. If 5 Focus is consumed, resets cooldown of Butterfly Cut. When Butterfly Cut is available, increases Evasion by 35%, and after successfully evading, counterattacks with Graceful Cut.

My personal favorite, Violet never leaves my arena/guild war teams.

If you’ve built him well and aren’t facing a huge powerhouse of a team, Violet is capable of pulling off a 1v4.

His constant dodges into counter-attacks are great for inflicting tons of single target damage.

Thanks to his 2nd skill, you don’t need to build him to 100% crit chance, giving you more wiggle room for other stats.

Overall, Violet is a very competent Earth hero to help climb into Masters or higher in PvP!

3. Rem

Attribute: Ice

Class: Warrior

Recommended Set: Counter/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Sigurd Scythe

How to get: 5* Limited Summon

Skills

Leave It To Me
A Maid’s Pride (Passive)
I Will Punish You!
Burn Effect: Increases effect chance to 100%.

Attacks the enemy with a morning star, with a 35% change to decrease Defense for 2 turns. When the caster is granted Demon Mode, grants the caster an extra attack with this skill.
When somebody dies, dispels all debuffs from the caster and grants Demon Mode for 2 turns. Can only be activated once every 5 turns. When an ally except for the caster is attacked, has a 15% chance to counterattack with Iron Strike. Iron Strike takes priority over a counterattack with a basic skill.

Iron Strike: Attacks all enemies, decreasing buff durations by 1 turn and making them unhealable for 1 turn.
Increases Attack of the caster for 3 turns, before leaping up to attack all enemies and decrease Hit Chance for 2 turns, before increasing Combat Readiness of the caster by 50%.

Making her debut in Epic Seven in 2021, Rem is originally from an exceptional anime called RE:Zero.

In this universe, she wields a flail and chain to inflict heavy damage on enemies.

Her demon mode buff is unique to her, granting some powerful buffs.

She shines as a counter-attacker, constantly whacking enemy heroes no matter who they attack.

Renowned for being a nuisance to play against, Rem is perfect for both offensive and defensive teams.

2. Landy

Attribute: Earth

Class: Ranger

Recommended Set: Speed/Immunity

Recommended Artifact: Guiding Light

How to get: 5* Limited Summon

Skills

Fire
The Chief is on the Scene (Passive)
Full Burst
Fires at the enemy and increases the caster’s Combat Readiness by 10%. Combat Readiness increase and amount of Fighting Spirit gained are doubled when the enemy is buffed.
Increases the caster’s attack by 15% after attacking. Effect can only stack up to 3 times. Gains 10 Fighting Spirit for each buff granted on the enemy, and when the Fighting Spirit is full, resets skill cooldown. Starts the first battle with 50 Fighting Spirit.
Burn Effect: Grants an extra turn.

Fires at all enemies and grants all allies increased Speed for 2 turns, before increasing their Combat Readiness by 15%. When Fighting Spirit is full, consumes all Fighting Spirit to penetrate the target’s Defense by 50%. This skill cannot trigger a counterattack.

Available as a rare limited summon, Landy is the best DPS hero available in Epic Seven.

Her passive buffing attack allows you to put more stats into HP & defense, drastically increasing her survivability.

Building her full speed to attack first is recommended, as her S3 will increase combat readiness of the rest of your team.

She’s not too great on defense teams, unless you have her built perfectly, as players know her weaknesses.

1. Angel of Light Angelica

Attribute: Light

Class: Mage

Recommended Set: Speed/Effectiveness

Recommended Artifact: Tagahel’s Ancient Book

How to get: 4* Mystic Summon

Skills

Ritualistic Touch
Guardian of Light (Passive)
Judgment of Angels
Burn Effect: Increases effect chance to 100%.

Attacks the enemy with fragments of a shimmering star, with a 50% chance to silence for 1 turn. When the target is silenced after attacking, decreases Combat Readiness of the target by 25%.
Immune to stun, and when an ally except for the caster is attacked, increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 8%. When suffering an attack that targets all allies, has a 75% chance to activate Guardian Angel. Guardian Angel can only be activated once every 3 turns.

Guardian Angel: Dispels one debuff from all allies before granting Skill Nullifier once.
Dispels two buffs from all enemies with holy light before a 70% chance to make them unable to be buffed for 2 turns and silencing for 1 turn.

Easily the best PvP release of Epic Seven this year, players saw their defense win-rate skyrocket upon the release of AoL Angelica.

Her S2 is especially potent in PvP, completely invalidating any AoE based teams, of which are common in Arena offense teams.

She’s just so brutal for shutting down entire team compositions that she’s a staple of any aspiring Epic Seven player, and is undoubtedly the best PvP hero in the game!
