Pokémon games are all about training your favorite creatures up, watching them adapt and grow over time. Seeing that same starter Pokémon take on Gym Leaders is so satisfying, it’s hard not to get attached. Whether you prefer huge, intimidating Pokémon or cute ones, everyone loves their party.
Making a team full of cute Pokemon is very possible in Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee. Although only Kanto Pokémon are available, there’s still plenty of choices out there.
I’ve chosen final/single evolutions to suggest only those that are actually usable in battle. Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur are all cute in their own right, but you won’t be taking on the Elite Four with them. I’ve listed 10 of the cutest Pokémon in the game, giving you more than enough to organise a team!
10. Persian
How to get: Exclusive to the Eevee version of Pokémon Let’s Go. Evolve a Meowth at level 28 or catch in the wild. In Let’s Go Pikachu, you can get a Persian as a gift in Vermilion City.
Any cat based Pokémon will always be welcome on a list like this. Recognised as Giovanni’s favorite pet, Persian can be over-looked by many a Pokémon fan. A fairly dark demeanor extends this dis-trust but come on, just look at it!
9. Clefable
How to get: Evolve a Clefairy with a Moon Stone, found in craters in Mt. Moon.
Easily obtainable early on, Clefable can act as a cute and effective Normal type Pokémon. With stats focusing on Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and HP, Clefable is tanky but can also deal out some damage. Additionally, being able to learn arguably the most fun move in the game, Metronome, is a huge plus!
8. Raichu
How to get: Evolve a Pikachu with a Thunder Stone.
The entire Pikachu line, including Alolan Raichu, is one huge bundle of cuteness. Raichu is the best choice for a team build, as you never know what nature/IVs (which are invaluable in competitive play) your Alolan variant will get. Like the Persian entry, mouse Pokémon are undeniably adorable.
7. Butterfree
How to get: Metapod evolves into Butterfree at level 10.
Butterfree is a potent special attacker with high speed to boot. Likely one of your first final evolutions, it’ll serve as a powerful Bug/Flying type Pokémon for your adventures. Being based on a Butterfly tells you everything, they’re known as the most graceful insects on the planet!
6. Dewgong
How to get: Evolve a Seel at level 34, or catch a Dewgong in Seafoam Islands.
Water and Ice based with great stats across the board, Dewgong is obtained later on in your journey but don’t disregard it. A body full of snowy white fur is so lovable, I almost feel bad having to take down Lorelei‘s Dewgong every time I face the Elite Four.
5. Eeeveelutions
How to get: Evolve an Eevee with a Thunder Stone for Jolteon, Water Stone for Vaporeon or a Fire Stone for Flareon.
Honestly, this entry really comes down to you opinion. If you love all Eeveelutions, feel free to get one of each for your team. Vaporeon is physical defense based, Jolteon is speed and special attack based, while Flareon is special defense based. I’m a big fan of Vaporeon and Jolten, not so much a fan of Flareon. All 3 of them are cute though and Jolteon is the most viable competitively.
4. Wigglytuff
How to get: Evolve a Jigglypuff with a Moon Stone, found in craters in Mt. Moon.
Just looked at those eyes, Wigglytuff is an endearing Normal/Fairy type Pokémon. A bright pink fur tone, off-set by bright blue eyes and pointy ears, all adds up to one insanely cute Pokémon. In battle, Wigglytuff is extremely slow, but makes up for it with Sp. Atk and HP stats!
3. Ninetales
How to get: Exclusive to the Eevee version of Pokémon Let’s Go. Evolve a Vulpix with a Fire Stone.
Bordering a fine line between cute and badass, Ninetales is like a half dog, half fox hybrid. Beloved by the Pokémon community for its strength in battle and adorable appearance, this Pokémon is a great choice for both PvE and PvP. Alolan Ninetales is probably the prettiest Pokémon in existence, although it’s tough to find one that can hold its own, due to the methods of obtaining Alolan Pokémon in Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee.
2. Vileplume
How to get: Exclusive to the Pikachu version of Pokémon Let’s Go. Evolve a Gloom with a Leaf Stone.
Vileplume had never really stood out as a cute Pokémon until it got its 3D model in Pokémon X/Y (it had one in previous games but they were lacklustre to say the least). Now we finally have a great model, we can appreciate how happy this creature looks at all times. Being mostly one huge flower just makes it hard to hate!
1. Chansey
How to get: Catch-able in almost every area in the game. See the game location section of Bulbapedia for a full list.
Considered by many to be the most adorable, heart-warming Pokémon in existence, Chansey deserves its place in the number 1 spot. It also wields one of the most unique stat distributions in the entire Pokémon world!
You should really understand Chansey’s stats if you decide to put one on your team. It has basically 0 physical attack or defense, so never use it against a strong physical attacker. Pitiful Speed and Sp. Atk stats further reduce its offensive power.
However, a huge amount of Sp. Def and HP make it pretty much unkillable against special attackers. Due to this, running a Toxic build is recommended, with Soft-Boiled and/or Rest to keep Chansey’s health pool topped up.
