Top 10 Worst Yugioh Cards of All Time
There are thousands of unique cards in Yugioh, in fact there may be a good million or two by now. Konami have produced archetype after archetype with their consistent releases of booster sets. If you ignore the archetypes and epic singles, you’ll find a lot of cards that go straight onto eBay, or into the bin. These cards are pretty much useless, having no real impact in any deck or requiring way too much set-up to get a bit of use out of them. Konami have done this since the inception of Yugioh, here’s a collection of the top 10 worst Yugioh cards of all time!
10. Dancing Elf
So there are plenty of low level monsters with pitiful ATK/DEF stats, the list could be made almost entirely on those. However, I’ve decided to keep it to just one. The card I chose was Dancing Elf, which displays such miserable stats that it has no use whatsoever.
9. Dark Sage
Dark Sage is by no means one of the worst cards when it’s on the field but getting it on there? Good luck with that. Requiring arguably the most difficult summoning conditions in the entire game, Dark Sage is so useless that it cannot fit anywhere other than your binder. You’ll get this as a dead draw constantly, even if you do manage to summon it then what? You get a spell card and a high ATK/DEF monster with no self protection.
8. Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon
Why would you ever summon Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon? If you even have it in your deck then you need to question your life choices. You would need to sacrifice a Red-Eyes B. Dragon equipped with Metalmorph for a card with no effect and just 100 extra ATK. Absolutely pointless.
7. Fortress Whale
Rituals have seen support over the years with specific archetypes that are actually quite decent. The old ritual monsters though, they’re a whole other kettle of fish. The likes of Hungry Burger is terrible but Fortress Whale is even worse. Sure it has more stats but you’ll have to wait to get both it and its Ritual Spell in your hand and then sacrifice monsters to reach the seven star requirements. All for a 2350 ATK/2150 DEF monster.
6. Zone Eater
This may be the most worthless effect monster in the entire game, what kind of duel doesn’t end within 5 turns of playing this card? As its an Aqua type with a Water attribute, it could potentially work in low-level Water/Aqua deck but please, why bother? Zone Eater is bad and it should feel bad.
5. Cold Feet
Maybe it’s just me but this card is absolutely useless, it just harms you more than it helps. Only under extremely situational conditions would this card have a use and even then, there must be hundreds of other cards that can help a lot more in those situations.
4. Fusionist
lmao
3. Sword Slasher
Back when Yugioh was first released, Sword Slasher wouldn’t be one of the worst cards. It wouldn’t be any good that’s for sure, but it’s utterly horrendous nowadays. As a level 5 monster, you would expect something in return for tributing a monster for it but instead you’ll get a card with 1450 ATK and 1500 DEF. Even some level 3 monsters have better stats than that..
2. Larvae Moth
This Insect type series of cards may just be the most pointless in Yugioh history. Thematically they’re brilliant, you must nurture your Petit Moth and the longer you do so, the more powerful it will become. Gameplay wise this is idiotic, who would wait 2 turns for Larvae Moth? Or even be able to reach 5 for Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth?
No one, that’s the answer. Larvae Moth in particular is quite easily one of the worst Yugioh cards in the game.
1. Sparks
Players start with 8000 life points, as I’m sure you’re aware. Sparks deals 200 damage to your opponent’s life points, or around 2.5% if they’re at 8000. This is absolutely nothing, it’s a complete waste of space and even the worst Yugioh players won’t give it a second look. Definitely deserves to be called the worst Yugioh card in the game!
Sparks is obviously a stunting card. I’ve won a tournament with Sparks by holding on to is from draw, just to humiliate a guy.
Instant legend!
To beat someone with Sparks is incredible..
actually with rapid fire magician + dark room of nightmare it can deal 900 lp.
in best case if you have 3 rapid fire and 3 dark room it could deal 2300 lp.
in a deck based on direct damage supported by rapid fire and dark room it could really be useful, i made that deck and got even tempted of using sparks in it since there aren’t enough better spell that can damage, but didn’t.
ops, i did wrong math:
a single spark can deal 1200 lp with 1 of both and with 3 of each can deal even 5000 lp!
damage are:
200 damage from spark
3*(400) from rapid fires
3* (4*300) from room
it is a rare deck to see but it can work, so it shouldn’t be top useless card, not even in top10.
Let’s be honest mate if you try that strategy against any half-decent decks nowadays, you’d get OTK’d the turn after 🙂
I would have expected to see the unhappy maiden. Her effect is somewhat helpful but if you need something as frail as 0 attack/100 defense, then one more turn won’t be much help.
What about foolish burial? Honestly though, NO MATTER WHAT, it just harms you. It helps summoning a very small handful of pretty weak monsters, but still, WHY?
Mate, Foolish Burial is an insanely good card haha there’s a reason it’s limited to 1
It is kinda good in the skull servant deck.
i use it with aromage bergamot for pierce damage
not too good tho
There’s a reason why it is limited. Most decks now usually focus on GY effects and foolish burial completely supports Gy effects.
For my opinion,
He should replace Sword Slasher with Leo Wizard.
Leo Wizard have lower stats and I don’t understand its existence.
Sure he was a OK card back in 1998 but at this era.
It could just be a troll if it is in anybody deck.
What about Jar Robber? It literally can’t even be used anymore since Pot of Greed is banned.
I don’t think fortress whale should be on this list it’s a decent ritual monster. There are other ritual monsters that are worse. As for cold feet they should have made it’s effect that your opponent cannot set or activate spell and trap cards.
There are Ritual monsters with less ATK/DEF stats but you need more stars to use as Ritual fodder for Fortress Whale, which is really bad for its ATK/DEF stats 🙂
Just saying, but I think the worst card is “Gather Your Mind”. It literally discards itself to get another of the same card. The only use for it is shuffling your deck.
It’s good in Exodia draw stall decks isn’t it? And Magical Explosion
Back in the day, level 1 normal monster decks were actually something I enjoyed using. With cards like enchanted fitting room and human wave tactics helping you flood and maintain field presence you could potentially proceed to wipe them out playing triangle power and the law of the normal.
Sparks is great, excuse you. It’s given me the upperhand in several games, especially when I manage to get all 3 in my hand. No, it might not hit the hardest, and it might not do anything fancy, but when you need to hit your opponent directly, and it’s one of those “Just a little more…!” moments, Sparks is a life saver.
Then again, I’m a direct hit player. Direct damage is the best way to go, in my opinion. I literally managed to beat someone by throwing down a powerful defense monster, some continuous protection for weak monsters, all three of my Sparks, all three Hinotama, and the infamous Rainbow Flower. It was a beautifully slow and painful duel, and I got to watch him squirm, too unlucky to draw anything that could eliminate my defenses.
srsly i used red eyes black metal dragon and i have like on so many duels won whoever post this is dumb it says it all in yugioh series
hahahahahahaha good one!!
fusionist is a target for instant fusion, it’s pretty good actually and heavily used.
why do i see so many blue eyes white decks so much kaibaman+bluedragonsummoner=blueyeswhitedragon i mean i have seen one decent one it was basically full of all the mirror forces with the blue eyes part and all the gadgets and every card is repeated 3 times!!!!! its decent sometimes and can be overpowered but in the time you spend getting it out your opponent has op cards out or they just use a spell or trap/ mirror force (:\). #owned
Wow, unbelievably uneducated post.
Especially in this and the coming years.
Wow, unbelievably constructive post!
What’s the issue with this list?
why is it constructive
never mind actually
Duel me and fail
Play magic the gathering
No chance!
The cat isn’t as bad as you think it is a target for instant fusion that can be used for linking synchros or xyz.
